So what actually are Dermal Fillers??
We use the word fillers so casually but do you actually know what you are having injected into your face? Most dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a natural compound that aids in the production of collagen and elastin...(The good stuff 😉).
They fill in wrinkles and adds volume to soft tissue. It's around the age of 25 when we start losing collagen at a rate of approx 2% each year. And in our late 20s when we stop producing it all together....I know...#rude 🙄
This non-surgical, facial aesthetics treatment helps restore that lost volume to the face giving a plump youthful look.
Which areas can I have Dermal Fillers?
You can have dermal fillers in various places in the face: jawline, tear trough (under eye) cheeks and of course the lips. Everyone has different levels of pain threshold but most areas have minimal discomfort.
Where should I go to get Dermal Fillers?
There are a lot of people offering facial aesthetics treatments, including antiwrinkle injections (botox) without medical training in the UK, and unlike the rest of Europe, where you must be a medical professional, it is legal for a beautician/spa to offer these treatments.(At the moment anyway).
This is something I strongly advise people who are looking to have fillers or botox not to do. The face is made up of complex structures, such as blood vessels, nerves, and close proximity to the eye area. If the injector is not correctly trained there is a huge risk to infection, damage, which could potentially lead to scarring and tissue death. A medically trained professional will understand the anatomy of the face from years of training and know the areas of the face to avoid.
How long do Dermal Fillers last for?
Fillers can last from 6-18 months, depending on the filler and how your body works with it.
What is the Cost of Dermal Fillers?
The price of dermal fillers, depends on how much filler you are going to have, along with the area and the injector. I start my prices from £180.
At your consultation, you will discuss the areas you would like to enhance and we will talk together about what can be achieved.
